Obituary: F. Keith Clawson

Keith Clawson, 101, passed from this earthly existence to his heavenly reward on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. Permission to take off was granted from Granite Creek Nursing Home, Prescott Valley, Arizona, where he was comforted by the company of his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Rodgers) Clawson.

Keith was born Dec. 17, 1916, in Shelby County, Illinois, and devoted his life to Christ at Christian Churches in Illinois, Hawaii and Arizona. He helped in the construction of the First Christian Church, Naperville, Illinois, and he was a founder. Keith and Barb performed service at a mission in Hawaii, and he gave time to construction of housing for families while attending the Christian Church in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Barb and Keith enjoyed traveling, especially their trip to the Holy Land.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Gary Clawson (Marseilles, Illinois), Ron (Sandra) Clawson (Casey, Illinois); daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Johnson (Mahomet, Illinois); four granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ollie (Cox) Clawson (Shelbyville, Illinois); daughter, Valerie (Vach) Clawson (Marseillles, Illinois); 12 aunts and uncles, and 39 cousins.

After graduating from Shelbyville High School, Keith enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. After service, he attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville, Illinois, and retired from Interstate Producers Livestock Association after 40 years. Keith provided a wonderful Christian example for many and an outstanding example of moral life-standards for his family.
