The Prescott Tourism Office will be accepting applications for Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council grants through Friday, June 8, at 5 p.m.

The grants are designed to assist nonprofit organizations that host arts and cultural-based events in Prescott between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

Events that seek funding will be rated based on the following criteria:

1) Artistic and cultural nature of the event; 2. Marketing and public relations activities to attract visitors from outside of the area, encouraging overnight stays in local lodging establishments; 3. Positive economic impact on the community, such as how many are attending, and if they are staying overnight at local lodging establishments; and 4. Benefit to the community, by working with other local organization.

PAAHC Grants are funded by the City’s Transient Occupancy, or Bed Tax.

The grant budget is $35,000 in total. Events are eligible for up to $5,000, depending on their rating and how many organizations successfully apply. Applications and guidelines are available online at the website www.visit-prescott.com. For more information, contact the city of Prescott at 928-777-1362.
