Obituary: Benjamin Kerwin Souler
Benjamin Kerwin Souler, 100, went to be with Jesus, his Savior, peacefully June 18, 2018. He was born Aug. 8, 1917, to Elizabeth and Harry N. Souler in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
Ben was preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla J. Souler; and his grandson, Stephen T. Hardwich. He is survived by his wife, Cornelia (Penny) Carruthers Souler; two daughters, Mary E. Hardwich (David) and Priscilla A. Henry (Charles); granddaughter, Jennifer Hardwich Bollinger (Scott); granddaughter-in-law, Rosemary V. Hardwich; great-granddaughter, Savannah S. Hardwich; and many dear friends.
Ben received a BS Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and an MS Degree in Microbiology from the University of Southern California. He was a proud Navy veteran who served in World War II and was recalled as a Reservist for the Korean War. He retired from Bristol Laboratories in 1972 where he worked as a Research Chemist. He then spent 10 years working as a Pharmacist on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He relocated to Prescott in 1990.
A memorial service celebrating Ben’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2110 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Good Samaritan Hospice, 1065 Ruth Street, Prescott, AZ 86301, Attn. Adelita.
