A single-engine Cirrus SR22 crashed under unknown circumstances about 24 miles northwest of Wickenburg at about 11:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) have indicated the plane contained two occupants. One was flown from the scene to a Phoenix area hospital, while the other did not require medical attention, YCSO said.
The crash occurred in a very remote area west of Highway 71 and north of the Aguila community, so deputies had to trek on foot to reach the crash site, YCSO said.
The FAA is currently investigating the crash.
