Letter: ‘Heartfelt thanks’

Editor:

To the citizens of Yavapai County:

On Tuesday, May 15, the voters of Yavapai County overwhelmingly authorized extension of the one-quarter-cent jail district sales tax by a margin of 3-1. On behalf of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, please allow me to express our heartfelt thanks for your vote of support for public safety in our county.

Your “yes” vote has ensured that this county will have the jail funding necessary to provide a safe and secure community for the coming decades.

The Board is truly humbled by this enormous display of trust by the citizens of Yavapai County. We pledge to use these funds wisely and effectively for the safety of the citizens of our great county.

Rowle P. Simmons, chairman

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors
