William F. Smith, born April 29, 1932, in Red Bluff, California, passed away Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, in Prescott, Arizona. His parents were Orlando and Mary Smith.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the battleship New Jersey. After completing his service he and his wife, Shirley, were married in Anderson, California in 1956. Together they raised three children, Brenda, James and MaryAnn.
After retiring from A.T.U. telephone in 1982, Bill was a Real Estate Broker, finally retiring from Real Estate and settling here in Arizona.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; daughter, Brenda and husband, Al; son, Jim and his wife, Kim; daughter, MaryAnn and husband, Todd. Also, eight grandchildren, Dean, Joe, Lauren, Ben, Shannon, Kailyn, Eric and Jacob; sister, Shirley and her son, John; and niece, Sharon. As well as great-grandchildren, Damian, Josiah, Rowan and Theodore. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Eva, brother Jerry and niece Laurie. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018, 1 p.m., at the VA chapel. Honor guard salute will be at 2 p.m., Veterans National Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona.
