Claudette Schonberg

Claudette Schonberg, 86, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on July 9, 2018. Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, Claudette was anxious to leave the Texas panhandle and, not long after graduating high school, began a job in the secretarial pool at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Destiny intervened when she met a tall, handsome young man at work, Al Schonberg. After a quick 3½-month courtship, they began a loving marriage that lasted almost 64 years.

The couple had three children, Allan, Laura and Eric, who they raised in Litchfield Park, Arizona, after Al transferred jobs. Claudette, who enjoyed the medical field, performed administrative work at a radiology practice and dentist office. In 1988, Claudette and Al moved to Prescott and both of them became successful Realtors.

Despite health challenges, Claudette was perpetually upbeat and optimistic, and an inspiration to all. She had many dear friends who agree that the world was brightened by her presence.

She will be deeply missed by everyone she touched, especially her family: husband, Al Schonberg; son, Allan; daughter, Laura Hamblin (Chris); son, Eric (Diana); grandchildren, Nicole Levin (Jeff) and Dylan (April); and her brother, Monte Craig (Judy) and his family.

The family will privately celebrate Claudette’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife Association, www.bradshawmountainwildlife.com. Please log in to www.ruffnerwakelin.com to sign the guest book.
