Explosives were used to bring down two aging launch towers at Cape Canaveral in Florida on Thursday, July 12, 2018.
Launch Complex 17 has been a part of the United States space program for more than 50 years and last hosted a launch seven years ago. The complex was the starting point for more than 300 launches.
The cost of the demolition and cleanup project is estimated at around $2 million, which will include removing and recycling about 1,700 tons of steel and two thousand tons of concrete.
