Letter: Keeping my tax cut

Editor:

This letter is a response to all the “the sky is falling” predictions from our local alt-left wing nuts regarding the Trump tax cuts.

Evidently, news editor Ken Sain and the lefties can predict the country’s economic future even before the tax cuts take effect. These tele-pathetic “Nostradamus” of Northern Arizona can foresee doom, gloom and death by listening to Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders and estimates by the Congressional Budget Office. According to Forbes, however, the CBO is wrong 50 percent of the time!

As far as the claim that the tax cuts “might” increase the debt by $1.3 trillion over a decade, I can’t help but wonder why Sain’s “Fruit of the Looms” weren’t in a bunch while great leader, President Barack Obama, increased the debt by $11 trillion in just eight years?

Clearly, our friends on the left have no sense of irony or hypocrisy.

Here’s an inconvenient fact for those who opposed the tax cuts: You can assuage your liberal guilt by sending some, most, or all of your tax cut back to the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury, Washington, D.C.

I, on the other hand, will feel guilt free because I have, over the last 50 years, helped pay for other people’s food, housing, health care, energy costs, job training, and even their cell phones! I have also helped pay for their children’s education, free school breakfasts, lunches and after school programs.

I’m sorry I can’t do even more, but I’m getting tired and it’s past time for all the “others” to start paying their fair share.
