Cordes Lakes American Legion Post 122 makes social events a priority so they planned a Valentine’s Day luncheon for its members and their families and friends.
Flour Stone Bakery in Mayer won the vote of the members at the last meeting to be the host, and all those who attended agreed it was an excellent choice.
While Flour Stone Bakery is basically a self-serve restaurant, a list of those in attendance and their choices of sandwiches, pastries, and beverages was provided a day before. When our group started arriving the drinks were served, and once we were all there our sandwich baskets were brought out. This left much more time for conversation and the fun of “getting to know you” among those in attendance.
Those attending said the sandwiches were good, the pastries out of this world, and service outstanding. It was a great way to celebrate the holiday and spare a loved one from doing the cooking.
