Quickly and unanimously, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 5 nominated and elected Vice Chair Randy Garrison to serve as chair and Supervisor Craig Brown to serve as vice chair in 2019.
“This is going to be a great year,” Garrison said. “The supervisors have come together as a great team; and while we all serve our unique and distinct districts, collectively we have been able to, and hope to continue to, provide the highest level of service and commitment to Yavapai County.”
The chair approves all items on the meeting agendas, maintains order during board meetings, and signs all documents approved by the board. When the chair is not available, the vice chair takes over these responsibilities.
Brown said the position of chair is not about power but of responsibility and support.
“I am really looking forward to offering Supervisor Garrison the support and encouragement I received so many years ago from Chip Davis,” he said. “I am sure Randy will do a great job as the chairman.”
