Obituary: William Burns White
William Burns White, born Feb. 18, 1935, in Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
He grew up in New Jersey, graduating from Ridgefield High School in 1952 and then attended Rutgers University on an athletic scholarship. He was a member of ROTC, and after graduation in 1956, continued on to serve nine years in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was employed as a commercial airline pilot and retired as a captain after 26 years of service. He was an avid reader, loved hiking and exploring, and was a voracious collector of antiques.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel; and step-daughter Colleen.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbra White; daughters, Tara and Laura; son, Bill; step-daughter, Angela; grandchildren, Travis, Kelli, Samantha, Makena, Mandy, Alyssa, Cassy, Wesley, Ryan, Tyler, and Rachel; and great-grandson, Alaric. He will truly be missed, but will remain forever in our hearts.
