A body was found after Central Arizona Fire & Medical Authority (CAFMA) responded to a mobile home fire in the 1000 block of El Rancho Road in Chino Valley Friday morning, Aug. 3, according to CAFMA Fire Marshall Rick Chase.

According to Chino Valley Police Department Public Information Officer Vincent Schaan, it is the body of a male subject who had a medical episode late Thursday night, Aug. 2. The fire began afterwards and there were no signs of foul play, Schaan said.

“The fire appears to have started in the kitchen area,” Schaan said, noting that without being able to deal with what happened in the kitchen, the fire spread.

A passerby noticed smoke and called 911, he said.
