Prescott man arrested for allegedly stabbing ex-wife’s friend

Ex-wife arrested as well for drug possession, outstanding warrants

A man visiting a friend’s home in Prescott was allegedly beaten and stabbed by the friend’s ex-husband during an altercation midday Tuesday, April 10, according to Prescott Police Department officials.

Detectives met the man at the Yavapai Regional Medical Authority’s emergency room, 1003 Willow Creek Road, where he was being treated for his injuries. During an interview with him, they learned he was visiting 42 year old Shammarie Jones at her home in the 1200 Block of Lago Vista Drive when her ex-husband, 44 year old Daniel Jones of Prescott, arrived.

Shortly after, an argument between Daniel and the visitor began, leading to the visitor being stabbed, detectives were told.

Later in the investigation, as detectives were about to execute the search warrant at the crime scene, Daniel was spotted driving by with Shammarie in his vehicle. Police pulled the vehicle over and both were detained and later arrested when dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Daniel was booked into the Yavapai County jail for aggravated assault, aggravated harassment, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shammarie was booked for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and three outstanding arrest warrants.
