Prostate On-Site Project (POP) will conduct affordable prostate cancer screenings for men 40 and older in downtown Prescott from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15 and 16.
This medical mobile service will be parked at 201 S. Montezuma St., at the corner of Goodwin and Montezuma.
Screenings include a prostate-specific antigen test, non-fasting blood test, digital rectal exam, testicular exam and physician consultation by a board-certified urologist. They’re recommended for men 40 and older, or 35 if a history of prostate cancer runs in the family.
POP accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Net, UnitedHealthCare. Specialist co-pay fees may apply. Medicare is not covered.
Screenings are free to Yavapai Combined Trust and state-benefit eligible employees and spouses. For those without insurance, the cost of a screening is $81.
