Letter: Get what you pay for

Editor:

In response to Larry Wonderling’s piece on The Wall, I’m thinking maybe his name should be, “wunderkind?” Able to make comprehensive clinical diagnosis from thousands of miles away! Able to analyze a person he has never tested or treated! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Oh, wait. I have obviously got Wonderling mixed up with another fictitious character.

But just to clear things up a bit, I’d like to report that Dr. Keith Ablow, a psychiatrist (a real doctor), addressing the irrational (and hysterical) fears of the leftist wingnuts over the state of our president’s mental health, recently said, “Trump Mentally ill? I hope that every president we ever have is this crazy.”

Dr. Ablow’s comments reminds me of two things: First: Abraham Lincoln telling those who expressed concerns that General Grant might have a drinking problem, “… if I could find out what brand of whisky General Grant drank, I would send a barrel of it to all my other generals.” Second:

Psychologists are to psychiatrists, what candy-stripers are to registered nurses. So, you get what you pay for ... even when it’s free.
