Letter: Deep Well Ranch

Editor:

In reading about the Deep Well Ranch new subdivision I was concerned about the overall size of this new city (Deep Well Ranch) they want to build next to the airport.

First they release water last year from Watson Lake in the middle of the summer and the next week the ground water availability is tested and they suddenly have the ground water in the aquifers to support the planned Deep Pockets Ranch, Business District, Hospital, Park and 10,000 residences, that’s about an additional 6,010 noise complaints a year about the noisy planes.

That about says “NO” to any airport expansion. Then they wanted to be exempt from Prescott Planning and Zoning rules and City bylaws. Could it be they are planning to un-incorporate from Prescott and create their own City, with their own City Council and Mayor?

I think it’s time the Prescott City Council rethink what effect moving all the downtown businesses out to the airport area would have on the local economy and Historic Downtown Prescott. Wow “Shoot out at Deep Well Ranch.”
