Launch Pad launches tutoring center

The Launch Pad Teen Center has joined the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. Celebrate its Prescott Chamber of Commerce membership as well as the opening of the new Tutoring Center at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at The Launch Pad Teen Center.

The Launch Pad Tutoring Center, a new branch of The Launch Pad Teen Center, was inspired by the nationwide federal budget cuts affecting after-school programs. The Launch Pad is proud to collaborate with Prescott Unified School District to insure youth receive the best services possible.

“Research shows young people thrive when they have meaningful relationships with caring adults,” said Prescott Police Chief Debora Black. “I commend The Launch Pad for creating a positive, safe environment where teens are inspired to learn, explore and grow.”

After the ribbon-cutting, The Launch Pad community will celebrate “Lights On Afterschool,” the annual nationwide celebration of after-school programs organized by the Afterschool Alliance.

To celebrate, The Launch Pad will showcase its Fall Clubs. Taste what the Garden Club has been growing, learn a new lifting technique from the CrossFit Teens, check out the Art Club’s original art, learn how to set up a camp stove with Adventure Club, and watch a video produced by the Digital Media Club.
