Jeffery Lee Jacobs (Jakubowski), April 8, 1958 - November 1, 2017

Jeff has gone home to the welcoming embraces of his Heavenly Father and earthly parents. The youngest of Jule and Monica’s five children, Jeff was the “baby of the family.” He is, however, the first of the siblings to pass. That tragic irony makes losing him even more painful. His succumbing to voracious cancers so much sooner then expected further compounds that sad twist of fate. Jeff was an accomplished athlete “back in the day.” And ever since, he was rigorously devoted to a healthy, organic lifestyle. So, at this time, it is difficult to make sense of a world which seems a less bright, beautiful place because of this loss.

This world was indeed a beautiful place to Jeff. He loved the great outdoors. He especially cherished those days he shared with his son in the wilds of Arizona. There, while hunting, fishing, observing and reflecting, he introduced Jeremy to the natural wonders of God’s creation.

A man of deep Faith, Jeff was faithful to the truest essence of Jesus’ teachings, steadfast devotion to Peace, Love and Forgiveness. He was gentle, considerate, caring and sharing in every way... other than his pain. Never wanting to burden others, he always bore pain, and, as much as possible, kept personal difficulties to himself. His genteel good humor and coy, boyish smile were always evident. While his personal tribulations were not. There’s an old saying, “If you can’t say anything good about someone, don’t say anything at all.”

Consider the reverse. What if all there is to truly say about someone is ALL good?!! Do you never stop ‘saying things’ about that person? Well, in some sense — yes. Jeff’s family and friends will always remember the loving ways he touched all of our lives. And we will try our best to share and live the life lessons he taught by his quiet, unassuming but oh so powerful example.

Those left here to honor Jeff’s memory include Diane, his wife and mainstay for over 20 years.

Jeremy, “his beloved son” as said in the New Testament, “in whom he was well pleased” and had so much paternal pride. Tia, his adopted step daughter who he dearly loved as his own. Jarret, Allen, Dennis, and Darline (Berg) his “big” brothers and sister who ultimately looked up to their “little brother.” Uncle “Mickey” Dola and Aunt Sybil Dola/Feltmeyer.

And many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff moved to Arizona from his native Michigan some four decades ago. In the Prescott area, with the mountains as a backdrop, he built with his own hands his own self sustaining home … as well as such an admirable life. His family is forever grateful for the compassionate, competent care he received at the Marley House in Prescott.

Their staff together with Kindred Hospice helped make Jeff’s final days and passing more bearable for him and his grieving family “back home.” God Bless you for being there when all of us could not.
