RE: APS rate hike affects some more than others. Thank you for trying to bring this out in the open ...
Being on the APS E-4 program in January 2017 my usage was 539 kWh and my bill was $26.97. In Octobe, 2017 (new rates) I used 520 kWh and my bill IS 58.37... That’s almost double!
I’m a 70-year-old retired Vet with COPD and I’m on oxygen all the time. This, along with my income, qualify me for the APS E-4 program.
Under the old “E-4” plan by being careful and self-rationing I could keep my electrical usage below 800 kWh 9 months of the year. This got me a 65 percent reduction in my APS bill. Now there is NO incentive to be careful ... It’s 35 percent across the board no matter how much power you use.
