Prescott Valley Bears club goes 4-0 at Best of West tourney

Prescott Valley’s Bad News for You Bears 12U AAA baseball team compiled a 4-0 record in the USSSA Best of the West tournament May 6 and 7, capturing their second straight tourney title to end the 2017 season.

At Rio Vista Park in Peoria, Bad News for You finished its inaugural campaign with a tournament record of 19-12, winning a total of three tourney championships.

This fall, the Bad News for You Bears youth baseball organization will expand to three teams.

Tryouts for those squads are as follows:

13U team – 5 p.m., May 30, at Mountain Valley Park Amphitheater in Prescott Valley.

12U team – 5 p.m., May 31, at the amphitheater.

10U team – 5 p.m., July 13, at the Mountain Valley Park 4-plex.

A player’s age on May 1, 2018, will determine the age and team for which he competes.
