Toll roads are the wrong choice for tourism (Courier editorial, Dec. 17). We pay for our roads through a variety of taxes including fuel taxes. Yet, some states choose to charge tolls even on sections of the interstate highways.
I believe this is wrong to the point that I plan my cross country trips to avoid them. I regularly drive from here to Missouri and plan my trips so that I spend as little time as possible and absolutely no money in Oklahoma due to its toll roads.
I know from talking with others I am far from alone in my beliefs. So if you’re looking to drive off tourists let’s get them installed ASAP.
