Fire destroys Humboldt home

An overnight fire destroyed a home on McCabe Street in Humboldt, and may also have taken the life of a family pet, said Rick Chase, division chief for Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority.

Fire crews responded to the call at 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 6, and when they arrived, found the home completely engulfed in flames, Chase said.

The only occupant, a man, was able to escape the fire with one of his dogs, but another dog has not been found.

No one was injured and firefighters were able to keep nearby property from catching fire.

Chase said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
