Five Tri-City College Prep High School students in Prescott earned a first place award in the 20th annual Envirothon competition earlier this month and for the first time will be representing the school at the North American competition to be held in Baltimore this summer.

The award winning students are: Amanda Bertsch, Kaleb Lyonnais, Kim Zamora-Delgado, Brianna D’Angelo and Ethan Kraftt.

During the competition, the students answered questions related to aquatic ecology, land use, forestry, wildlife ecology, and sustainable agriculture. At the end of the competition, the students also developed and gave presentations on the management of a hypothetical farm.

The team was also awarded third place in soils and land use, second place in wildlife, first place in forestry and first place in aquatics.
