Henry Mitchell Dye, of Prescott, Arizona, died on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. He was 73.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1942, in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from California State Polytechnical University in 1968 with a BSME in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear and Power Systems. In 1969 he married his first wife, Frances Edwards and together they had two children. Henry worked in the Nuclear Engineering Department at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard before taking an early out in 1995. He was most proud of his work on the Manual for the Procedures to Overhaul Nuclear Submarines.

In 1996, Henry married his soulmate and love of his life, Barbara Imhoff. Post Retirement, Henry worked for The Hay Group as a Network Administrator from 1996-2004. In 2004, Henry and Barbara moved to Prescott, Arizona. In Prescott, Henry was actively involved with the Hiking Club, Computer Society and Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoyed Biblical Research and spent many hours assisting the Associates for Scriptural Knowledge with timelines and editorial input. One of his greatest accomplishments was hiking the John Muir Trail in its entirety. He passed on his great love of the outdoors to all he met. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Barbara, their six children; Lynna, Brian, Elayne, Christine, April and Anneke, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and sister, Carrie Ann. A memorial service will be held at Ruffner Wakelin Chapel, 303 S. Cortez St., at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. Memorial donations may be made in Henry’s name to the Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity.
