Burl A. Foster was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Redmond, Oregon. He grew up in the Marysville/ Yuba City, California, area. Burl served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954.
Burl married Mary in 1959 and adopted, Michael, deceased, and Patrick Foster. They had a daughter, Vicki Foster, and were divorced in 1978. Burl married Carolyn Feb. 18, 1989, and added two step-children to his family, Lara Ferrato and Scot Listavich. After the Air Force, Burl moved to southern California, until he retired Dec. 31, 1992, from BP Marine in San Pedro as their Marine Terminal Manager.
Burl enjoyed riding horses, and breeding and racing quarter horses. Burl and Carolyn moved to Chino Valley, Arizona, when they retired. His life was filled with family, friends, dogs, horses, camping and fishing. Burl developed Alzheimer’s and moved into the Cottage at Highgate where he received great care from truly wonderful people. Burl died there in the company of his wife, Carolyn, and daughter, Lara, on July 21, 2016. He was deeply loved and is sorely missed.
