I would like to thank Barry Barbe, owner of El Gato Azul on Goodwin Street. He is a true advocate for community and supporting nonprofits. Last Saturday, the Prescott Food Truck Festival was canceled by the organizer Eagle Management, Inc. due to venue flooding and inclement weather. Unfortunately, this is something that happens when there are outdoor events.
A true disappointment for Eagle Management Inc., Prescott Meals On Wheels (the nonprofit getting partial proceeds), the area food truck businesses and definitely for many local foodies. After Barry heard about the cancelation, he called Prescott Meals On Wheels to purchase 10 dozen tamales, knowing we would be at a financial loss having been prepared to sell over 70 dozen throughout the weekend.
Barry is a true class act and truly an inspiration of caring. I encourage area residents to continue to support local business who support area nonprofits like Barry Barbe at El Gato Azul.
