On Oct. 5, 2016, our dearest friend Susan O’Meara went over the Bardo. Because she was so well loved and respected, it’s difficult to not be saddened by her loss. Susan’s love of animals brought her to the Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary as a volunteer and later a Board member.
In 2002, when our tiger Shikar died, Susan was scheduled to go on a retreat in India and she took some of Shikar’s ashes with her and sprinkled them in the Ganges river. In addition to her love of animals, Susan loved the theater. She knew and worked with many stars of her era and she could tell a good tale about them!
Because she moved to Portland, Maine, about four years ago, she lost track of many of her Prescott friends. So we’ll have a get-together in the near future to talk about, laugh about and basically bless our dear friend on her next jouney.
