United Animal Friends (UAF) is having a Paw-ty. Bring your pooch to Woof Down Lunch and enjoy a day of food, music, vendors, and activities on the courthouse plaza in downtown Prescott from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

This is the eighth year that UAF is hosting the fun-filled fundraiser that pet lovers look forward to all year. A $20 ticket includes a BBQ lunch from Crossroads Café and choice of a handcrafted pet bowl or 10 raffle tickets for chances to win gift baskets. Anyone purchasing a ticket will receive a dog cookie from the Whiskers Barkery booth, which they can decorate for their pup at the event. Pet food suppliers will be on hand to provide free food samples and treats. Tickets are available in advance online at UnitedAnimalFriends.org and at Whiskers Barkery, 225 W. Gurley St., in Prescott. Tickets will also be sold at the event.

The Gurley Girls will perform their blend of fem-folk pop-rock music from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 1:15 p.m. In addition, Prescott Ukulele Guild will play a variety of lively tunes from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Attendees can take a chance at winning one of the numerous baskets loaded with donated gifts and services offered up for raffle. Free children’s activities will be all day.

Exhibitions are scheduled to entertain and educate dog owners during the event. Visitors to the Ask-a-Vet booth can get answers to medical questions from Prescott Animal Hospital. Andy Lloyd of Dandy Dawgs will present dog training demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Pet owners can also watch dog agility demos by Dandy Dawgs and then have their dogs try an agility course, which will be open all day. “Socks Judy” will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon, spinning yarn from donated dog hair, which she knits into teddy bears and other items for customers who make a donation to UAF.

Dogs can compete to win a trophy in “Best in Show Contest” which starts at noon. This year’s categories are Best Wiggle Butt, Best Costume, Best Dancer, Best Singer, Best Kisser, Best Ears, Best Trick, Happiest Dog, Best Owner Look-alike and Most Interesting Mix of Breeds.

Introductions to adoptable UAF dogs will take place all day at UAF’s adoption area. Attendees can also view photos of UAF cats and kittens available for adoption at the Kitty City booth.
