Chino Valley Animal Hospital has teamed up with United Animal Friends to offer a free one-day spay and neuter clinic for cats and dogs of prequalified low-income families on Friday, May 6.
Space for the surgeries is limited and due to the great need for this service, the available slots are expected to fill quickly. Interested parties should call UAF at 928-778-2924 to leave their contact information. Applicants will be considered on a first come, first served basis and should not call the clinic for an appointment until after they have been approved by UAF.
This will be the third free clinic provided through the partnership of CVAH and UAF. The two previous clinics have been a great service to the community, resulting in the spay or neuter of 78 dogs and cats. In addition, each pet received a medical exam and rabies vaccine, if needed. In one extreme case, a dog’s life was saved when it was discovered that she was suffering from pyometra, an infection of the uterus.
The upcoming clinic will help prevent any number of unwanted pregnancies, which could potentially contribute to the homeless pet population and will ensure that the pets are vaccinated against rabies.
CVAH is located at 3601 N. State Route 89 in Chino Valley.
