This year has provided many interesting stories for our readers.
We’ve looked at homelessness, veteran issues, education woes and victories, numerous court cases, taxes and, of course, the elections – local, state and nation.
In 2017, we will continue to cover the subjects that impact your life. We’ll keep you close in the loop on what the state legislature is doing – or not doing – for Yavapai County. Weekly state updates will let you know what your local representatives are doing in Phoenix.
If you recall Jan. 1 of this year, we launched a series on the homeless issue here in the county, in a big way. Keep an eye on your Jan. 1, 2017 paper, which will compare where the issue was then and where it is now. Citizens in the area stepped up and addressed the issue in many ways, which we will take a look at.
For the new year, as a newspaper reader, what do you want to see on these pages?
We’re not talking politics, here. Yes, we’d all feel better if we read an opinion page that agreed 100 percent with our views, but that’s not going happen anywhere. Although, we encourage you to submit your thoughts in letters to the editor. We can’t run different opinions if we don’t get any.
So, what issues do you feel need looked at in 2017 for Yavapai County?
We want to hear from you, so please email your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or mail them to Robin Layton, 1958 Commerce Center Circle, Prescott, Arizona, 86301.
Your community newspaper staff want to provide you with the news you need, want and can use.
