Ruth W. Grenier

Ruth W. Grenier, 88, passed away Dec. 3, 2016. She was born on August 8, 1928, in Worcester, Massachusetts. The daughter of the late Percy and Mary Beyea, she graduated Valedictorian from Rutland MA High School and was the recipient of the Becker College Scholarship. She was a Red Cross volunteer, knitting socks and mittens for servicemen and volunteered at Holden Hospital in her high school years.

She married Raymond Grenier, a WWII veteran in 1946. They had two children, Raymond Jr. and Susan. The family moved in 1967 to California and lived there 26 years. Ruth was an office manager, Notary Public and bookkeeper, retiring in 1985. In 1993 the family moved to Dayton, Nevada. She was on the Board of Governors of Dayton Valley Golf Course, on the DVGC Architectural Committee, an active member of Dayton VFW Post #8660 and the Dayton Kiwanis Club. The Grenier family was named “Kiwanis Family of the Year” in 1995-1996. Ruth enjoyed volunteering, playing golf, cards and going to the Casinos. She moved to Prescott in 2007 to be near family. She made many friends and loved being close to family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan in 1973, and her husband of 59 years, Ray in 2006. Also preceding her in death her brothers Herbert and Walter Beyea (a WWII hero), and sisters: Grace O’Donnell and Dorothy Harding. She is survived by her son Raymond Grenier Jr. of Prescott, brothers: Richard (Judy) Beyea of Texas; John (Carla) Beyea of Dewey; Bob (Sue) Beyea; and George Beyea of Prescott along with numerous nieces and newphews.
