Russell Leroy Eis, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died peacefully and entered heaven on Aug. 9, 2016. Russ celebrated his 95th birthday with loving family members just two days prior.
Russell was born on Aug. 7, 1921, in Wenatchee, Washington, to Albert and Viola (Shepherd) Eis. He married Elizabeth Greenhalgh on April 16, 1949, and enjoyed 60 years of marriage, which included many wonderful memories. Elizabeth preceded him in death in 2009.
Russ had four sons and two of his sons preceded him in death - Ronald and Gary. Surviving are his children, David Eis and Richard (Cindy) Eis; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Russ was the epitome of a positive and grateful attitude. He radiated a cheerfulness and gratitude no matter the circumstances.
Russ enjoyed many hobbies and activities through the years including his amazing ability at intricate wood carving, sailing, traveling and square dancing. Russ and Beth reached their dream of traveling around the world to many places such as England, Russia, Italy, New Zealand and France. They circled South America on the Queen Mary II and even sailed on their own 27-foot sailboat to Hawaii.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Orchard Ranch Senior Resort, Prescott Valley, Arizona.
