It’s the second half of April, May is coming right up and the heat of summertime is encroaching, ready to replace the warmth of spring. It’s already started getting hotter.
So cool down with a refreshing drink. There are plenty of places that offer some good drinks to ride out the heat that comes with living in Arizona. After all, simply having an average beer can get old after a while.
Here are some of those places.
Prescott Brewing Company, 130 W. Gurley St., not only has a few drinks to cool off with, but some good food to wash it down with. The brewpub still has some of its 22nd anniversary drink, an imperial red ale called the Defiance left and is also welcoming a German maibock called Bock of Ages in May. A multi-lager, it has a golden color and is a good drink for spring.
Or maybe head to Raven Café, 142 N. Cortez St. It’s offering a drink called the Kalimotxo with red wine and cola over ice in a highball glass.
Hassayampa Inn’s Peacock Room has a good list of drinks if cooling off means going fancy. One such drink is the Ketel Cosmo, containing Ketel One Citroen, Grand Marnier and cranberry juice.
But if cooling off is better with something hard, then head to Thumb Butte Distillery, 400 N. Washington Ave., and get its Escalante Dark Rum, distilled from Panela sugar from Latin America and aged in American White Oak. It can be tried over ice or in any rum-based cocktail.
Superstition Meadery, 120 W. Gurley St., is a good choice to cool off, too. One drink it offers is the Tahitian Honeymoon, semi-sweet Mead aged on Tahitian Vanilla Beans in New American Oak Barrels.
Those all sound better than just a regular beer, right?
