Letter: Thanks, from Highlands Center

EDITOR:

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all who contributed to make the Highlands Center's seventh annual Wander the Wild fundraising event the best one ever.

First, our talented and dedicated planning committee led by Lesley Alward, including Carol Annable, Kathy Austin, Sylvia Brown, Bonnie Bruce, Cathy Cunningham, Dave DeVille, Anita Fleming, Brenda Howard, Mary Ann Mira, Lesley Schuler, Jessie Manley-Ewald, Cynthia Jones and Don & Annette Schiller. Their enthusiasm, organization and dedication are remarkable.

Other staff including Gerry Garvey, Mara Kack, Kristina Garcia, Felipe Guerrero, Dennis Shaffer, and Bob Stutey all pitched in and provided much needed support. We'd also like to thank Marnie Uhl, for her great job as MC, and Jacy Lee the top-notch auctioneer who kept it all going. The auction brought in record amount with all proceeds going to underwrite the cost of our school field trip programs and provide scholarships to schools in lower income areas.

Big thanks to our Presenting Sponsors, Lesley Alward Team of Reality Executives and our Honorary Chairs Ron & Laura James. Our Sustaining Sponsors included The Foothills Bank, Taylor & Padgett Wealth & Legacy Strategies, and Whole Foods Prescott. Contributing Sponsors were Brown & Brown Insurance, BloomTree Reality, Fann Contracting, Lamb Cadillac, and Olsen's for Healthy Animals. Other Sponsors included AmeriFirst Financial, APS, Diana Coombs Group of Lawyers Title, Haley Construction, Jay's Bird Barn, Prescott Residence Inn and the Forte Family.

Many thanks for in-kind contributions from Page Springs Cellars, Painted Lady Vineyards, Cork and Cuisine Restaurant and Manzanita Outdoor, as well as raffle items donated by Nectar Apothecary and Thumb Butte Distillery. We encourage you to support these local merchants that make so much possible here in the Prescott area.

Over 75 individuals and businesses contributed auction items related to experiencing and appreciating the outdoors. The staff at Talking Rock did an outstanding job hosting and catering the event. On behalf of all the children that will benefit from wonder-filled outdoor science programs at the Highlands Center, thank you all for your generosity!
