I served for six years (May 1970 to May 1976) in the U.S. Army as a noncommissioned officer (sergeant), including a full combat tour as a M60 machine gun team leader with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. I was then assigned stateside to the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, Colorado. I finished my service with the 6th Army as an active reserve soldier.
I was awarded the following: Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal
I currently am a 25-year member of the American Legion (Earnest Love Post 6 Prescott), Veterans of Foreign Wars life member (Bucky O'Neil Post 541 Prescott), Disabled American Veterans life member (Chapter 16 Prescott), Vietnam Veterans of America life member (Chapter 95 Prescott), 101st Airborne Division Association member, Association of the U.S. Army member
I'm also currently co-chair of the Yavapai County Veterans Memorial Plaque Committee here in Prescott and am serving on mayor elect Harry Oberg's advisory team.
