I arrived in Danang Vietnam Sept. 17, 1967. On Jan. 9, 1968, I arrived at the mouth of the Perfume River near Tan My. I was assigned to River Patrol Boat Mobile Base One, "PBR MB1, River Division 521. The River Division 543 on CUA Viet River was under our command. We were under River Patrol Task Force 116. We were under the Task Force Clearwater from January 1968 to June 1970. We provided the security for the river cargo boats YFU and/LCUs up to Dong Ha and Hue city. We helped provide the support to I-Corp during TET of 1968 to HUE city and KHE SANH. I worked in the radio shack as a communications yeoman CYN3. The radioman call sign was Curveball. The River Division 521 was Pistol Pete.
My place of residence at the time I was enlisted into the service was Fulton, Missouri.
