Letter: At risk

EDITOR:

Bravo to you the editor for printing that column by Dick Polman "Ten billion bucks for a presidential race." Giant corporations and the super rich are buying elections and politicians more now than at any time in our nation's history. We're sliding into an oligarchy. Polman, in his column, implies that there's no way to stop it. I disagree with him there. It will take a constitutional amendment to squelch that bizarre Supreme Court ruling that money is free speech. Will it come easily? Of course not. The moneyed class will fight it with every trick they've got. But our democracy is at risk. A national organization called Move to Amend has taken up the fight. Interested? Check out MovetoAmend.org.
