After a long run as boys' basketball coach at Bradshaw Mountain High School, Doug Beilfuss leaves as that program's all-time wins leader to take his game to the collegiate level.The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University men's basketball program announced Friday, March 6, that Beilfuss will become assistant coach as the Eagles' inaugural season begins later this year in the NAIA."God has blessed me with an extraordinary opportunity at ERAU," Beilfuss said in a Friday news release. "I will work my hardest to make the university and community proud. I look forward to serving the quad-city area. Over that time he compiled a record of 200-196, and he leaves the Prescott Valley campus as the boys' basketball program's all-time coaching wins leader.He'll join a staff led by head coach Eric Fundalewicz, as the university begins its first-ever year of men's basketball in the 2015-16 season."Doug is the epitome of what we are looking for here at Embry-Riddle and the basketball program," Fundalewicz said in the news release. "I've had the opportunity to watch and know Doug for the last 15 years and have been impressed with his basketball program at Bradshaw Mountain."Prior to his stint at Bradshaw, Beilfuss spent eight years as the JV head coach and varsity assistant at Phoenix Moon Valley High School, and, before that, three years as the freshman assistant coach at Tucson Rincon High.
