Four different players scored and sophomore Arturo Gomez picked up two goals and an assist as the Cougars' remarkable winning streak continued Thursday.
Chino blanked Phoenix Country Day at home to improve to 10-0-0 on the season and 6-0-0 in power point games. Since last year, when the Cougars raced to the Division 4 state championship, the boys are riding an unbeaten streak of 26 consecutive games (25-0-1).
Gomez connected off an assist from Geo Vedolla, and Jairo Herrera also scored to stake the Cougars to a 2-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Vedolla put one in, followed by Oscar Montes and Gomez.
Chino dominated the run of play throughout, and subbed in a total of 20 players.
The Cougars, ranked No. 1 in the AIA, have outscored their opponents 38-5 this fall.
The team has a busy run next week. After traveling to Camp Verde on Tuesday, the Cougars will hit Tucson for the Old Pueblo Classic at which they'll face Blue Ridge, Show Low, Snowflake and St. Gregory.
