Courts asking for public comment on 3 candidates for judge pro tem

The Yavapai County Superior Court is accepting public comments on the three finalists selected to take over a judge pro tem position left vacant by Judge Patricia Trebesch's appointment to the Division 4 bench.

The candidates are Daniel F. Furlong of Prescott; Elizabeth A. McFarland of Sedona; and Mark M. Moore of Prescott.

Presiding Judge David L. Mackey will consider the comments submitted when he makes a decision on which candidate to recommend to the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court, who will make the appointment.

That person will then be presented to the county Board of Supervisors for approval, and the choice should be finalized by the end of June.

Email comments, including name, address, phone number in case the court needs to follow up, to or mail them to the Superior Court, Attn: Rolf Eckel, Court Administrator, 120 S. Cortez, #410, Prescott, AZ 86303. The deadline for comments is May 30.
