Obituary: Kathleen M. Noble

Kathleen M. Noble, born Sept. 9, 1953, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2013.

Kathy was born in Lynn, Mass., to Roger J. Noble (now deceased) and Dorothy Noble (now hospitalized in Ontario, Calif.).

Kathy was the fourth child of seven, and she predeceases her sister Karen Stroud of California, Chris Estock of California, Tom Noble of Hawaii, Roger Noble of Idaho, Fred Noble of Hawaii, and Frank Noble of California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy is survived by her son Gordon Bennett Burton and his wife, Kimberly.

Kathy was married to Gordon B. Burton and Thomas H. Speigel. She was a student at Long Beach Harbor College (California), where she studied bookkeeping, later to become a full-charge bookkeeper.

Kathy loved all animals. She leaves behind her devoted dogs Ringo and Ricki and her beloved horse Sir Driveway.

Kathy's hobbies included trail riding, camping and working in her yard. When time permitted, Kathy traveled to Hawaii to visit her family. Kathy was a member of Horsing Around, a local trail riding club. One of Kathy's important accomplishments was the creation of the local paper Lonesome Valley Newsletter. The paper began in 2001 and quickly became very successful, growing to a circulation of 7,000. Kathy remembered these times with great fondness - as a time of hard work while meeting wonderful people in her community.

Kathy chose to pattern much of her life after the prose poem "Desiderata" written by Max Ehrmann in 1927. The poem begins, "Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence."

Kathy wishes to thank Noah Foundation for their charitable support of the recent medical needs of her beloved dog, Ringo.

At Kathy's request, remembrances can be made to the Noah Foundation, 603 South Granite St., Prescott, AZ 86303.
