F. Douglas Johnson

F. Douglas Johnson, 74, of Prescott, Ariz., died at his home on Aug. 25, 2014, after a brief illness. He was born in 1939 in Jefferson City, Mo., to K.K. and Dean Johnson.

Doug was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson City High School, and did his undergraduate work at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. He completed his master's degree in math at Missouri University-Columbia, and was a doctoral candidate at Denver University. Doug worked at Denver Research Institute, and then managed the geology lab at Princeton University before retiring to Prescott in 2000. He enjoyed fishing and lapidary work.

He is survived by his sisters Sidney Martin and Virginia Johnson of Kansas City, Mo.; his brother Whitman Johnson of Santa Fe, N.M.; nieces Rachel Martin and Hannah Humphrey; nephew Eric Devany; and his three cats. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

A private family memorial will be take place in Missouri at a later date.
