Felecia Rotellini, the 2014 Democratic candidate for Arizona Attorney General, will address the monthly luncheon meeting of the Democratic Women of the Prescott Area (DWPA) on Wednesday, May 22, with check-in at 10:30 a.m. at Stoneridge Country Club.
With an impressive record of cracking down on mortgage fraud and violence against women, Rotellini is a favorite among Arizona Democrats for her efforts to protect consumers and small businesses, and for the respect she has gained from law enforcement officials from both parties.
Rotellini has been practicing law for more than 25 years in both the public and private sector. She spent 17 years as an assistant AG, targeting consumer protection and financial fraud as a prosecutor in the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
In 2006, Rotellini was appointed superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions by then Governor Janet Napolitano where she created a mortgage fraud division and worked to get mortgage loan officers licensed. She received the "Excellence in Cooperative Law Enforcement" Award from the United States Attorney's Office for participation in "Operation Cash Back," which resulted in the indictment of 36 individuals involved in mortgage fraud.
Rotellini is a graduate of the law school of the University of Notre Dame and earned a bachelor's in history and political science from Rocky Mountain College.
DWPA meets on most fourth Wednesdays of the month. Luncheons are at Stoneridge from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and cost $15. Reservations required. Email Corrine Shaw at firstname.lastname@example.org.
