CAMP VERDE - Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the suspects who stole construction equipment worth $21,900 from a worksite on Highway 260 near mile post 237, a YCSO spokesman said.
The equipment - generators, a compressor, a stainless steel toolbox, laser levels, grease guns, a jack tamper and gas-powered saws - were stored in a locked trailer, said Dwight D'Evelyn, Sheriff's spokesman.
The site's foreman said crews locked the trailer on April 4, and even went an extra step, parking a large tractor in front of the doors to make access difficult.
But when workers arrived the morning of April 8, the trailer had been moved forward and the doors were ajar, D'Evelyn said.
The YCSO is looking for information about possible suspects or the stolen property. Tips can be called in to the Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260 or anonymously to Silent Witness at 800-932-3232. Silent Witness tips that lead to an arrest become eligible for a cash reward. Refer to case 13-011525.
