Have you ever thought, "I wish my baby came with an instruction manual?" Well, First Things First may be able to help. Arizona Parent Kits are available to the family of each newborn upon discharge from a hospital. So, if you are expecting - or someone in your family is expecting - be sure to take advantage of this resource. The Arizona Parent Kit has a wealth of information for all phases of a child's youngest years. First Things First, in partnership with Virginia G. Piper Trust, has invested more than $2.5 million to provide the Arizona Parent Kit to families across Arizona. The kits include:
Arizona Parents Guide - combines resources and information with practical parenting advice.
Infant Board Book - to encourage parents to begin reading to their children at an early age.
Six videos/DVDs - topics include "The First Years Last Forever," "Safe from the Start," "Your Healthy Baby," "Quality Child Care," "Discipline" and "Ready to Learn."
Refrigerator magnet with the toll-free number for the Birth to Five Helpline.
The vision of First Things First is that all of Arizona's children are ready to succeed in school and in life. The organization is one of the critical partners in creating a family-centered, comprehensive, collaborative and high-quality early childhood system that supports the development, health and early education of all Arizona's children birth through age 5.
