Several local organizations are set to participate in a Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Prescott Valley Sam's Club, 5757 E. Highway 69.
Admission is free and exhibitors will include the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Yavapai County Search and Rescue, American Red Cross, Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Amateur Radio Emergency Services (presenting Ham Radio demonstrations), Central Yavapai Fire District, United States Forest Service, Community Emergency Response Team and the Prescott Valley Police Department.
Available information at the fair can help people be better prepared for emergencies, job loss, debilitating illness or natural disasters.
Demonstrations will include how to cook with a Dutch oven, how to freeze-dry food, how to build a 72-hour emergency kit, and many more.
The event is organized by the Prescott Valley Stake of The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints.
