The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is asking car owners to remove valuables from your car or truck and make sure you lock your vehicle after a series of burglaries from unlocked vehicles in the Castle Canyon Mesa area near Prescott Valley.
On Jan 27, a wallet, cellphone, keys and a backpack were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 6200 block of Jester Circle near midnight. An iPod and a purse with a wallet, driver's license and Social Security card were stolen from two unlocked vehicles in the 6200 block of Dragon Lane during the overnight hours on Jan. 17, according to YCSO.
Detectives think a trespassing and burglary on Jan. 4 might possibly be related, according to investigators. In that incident, a transient had been seen sleeping in the garage of an unoccupied home in the 3100 block of North Kings Highway East, but the transient has not been located.
The Sheriff's Office asks people to be alert to potential suspects in this area during evening and early morning hours and to report suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
