Prescott Valley Howl-O-Ween event to benefit Humane Society

PRESCOTT VALLEY - A "Howl-O-Ween" event Saturday in Prescott Valley will benefit the Yavapai Humane Society.

It features fun activities for pets and their human companions at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walgreens.

A pet costume contest at noon includes prizes for best homemade costume, best owner/dog look-a-like, and best costume for large, medium and small dogs.

Walgreens will provide a photographer and free 4x6 portraits to all dogs and their owners.

Yavapai Humane Society volunteers will bring puppies and dogs available for on-site adoption. The public can check out the 1966 Mustang that YHS is raffling off in December. Tickets are $10, or $50 for six. They also are available at

Sales from donated hot dogs and beverages also benefit the Humane Society.
