Obituary: Betty Pozgay

Betty Pozgay died on Oct. 28, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. She died peacefully in her sleep after a lifetime of challenges, adventures and love.

She was born in 1918 in Richfield, Utah, and spent her girlhood years there and in Beaver, Utah. After marriage, she lived in Provo and Cedar City, Utah, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Albuquerque, N.M., Laguna Niguel, Calif., Tucson and ultimately in Prescott. She was a steady and hardworking partner to Michael Pozgay, her husband of 48 years. She had a wonderful and irreverent sense of humor and was a model of grit and graceful persistence.

Her husband, Michael Pozgay; her son Carl Taylor and his wife Holly; her grandchildren Dana Taylor, Natalia Taylor, Jason Oliver and his wife Emily; and four great-grandchildren will miss her. In addition, her stepchildren Jon Pozgay (Gail), Terry Vlasin (Ron) and Lucy Ann Middleton (Mike) will also miss her. She was preceded in death by her daughter Vicky Taylor and her grandson Michael Oliver.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
